Co-founding Fleetwood Mac in 1967, Mick Fleetwood has been a household name for nearly four decades. The band, which outsold The Beatles and Rolling Stones in 1969, originally made its mark as an all-British, all-male, blues/rock ensemble. A new line-up of the band in the mid-70s hit hard with the release of Fleetwood Mac (1975) and the multi-Grammy-winning Rumours (1977), still one of the best-selling albums ever (over 30 million copies).  Under Fleetwood’s guidance, Fleetwood Mac capitalized on their success with groundbreaking world tours and further innovative releases including Tusk, Mirage and Tango in the Night.  Early 1998 found the band inducted into the Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame.

Fleetwood has pursued other projects with the same energy, drive and passion.  In 1981 he went to Ghana, Africa where he recorded the critically acclaimed solo album, The Visitor, which featured local musicians as well as such British greats as Peter Green, George Harrison and Jimmy Page.  Two years later he fronted The Zoo, a side project with Billy Burnette, George Hawkins Jr. and others.

With diverse talents as an actor and author, Fleetwood is also a savvy entrepreneur.  Among a myriad of activities, his Total Drumming product offers a digital drum-loop tool for producers, musicians and hobbyists to create royalty-free compositions.  His boutique wine brand, Mick Fleetwood’s Private Cellar, is now available in specialty shops, select Costco stores and grocery chains nationwide.  Through his record label, Tallman Records, Fleetwood has made a commitment to nurturing new talent and is currently shepherding the debut album of 23-year-old British singer/songwriter Tallulah Bardens.  Increasingly active as a public speaker, he has partnered with author and former Getty Center executive Sir Kenneth Robinson to discuss in front of college and corporate audiences the importance of music and the arts in education.  Fleetwood and Robinson are also partnering on a new nonfiction book. Lending his celebrity to speak out against drug addiction, Fleetwood is encouraging people to take a hard look at this ever-growing problem.

A devoted family man, Fleetwood, blessed with two grown daughters, Amy and Lucy, from a previous marriage, now lives in Maui with his wife Lynn and their six-year-old twin daughters Ruby and Tessa.
